daddy's surprise!

Nate told us he had a big surprise tonight...and he came home with an awesome new Marmot tent!!! We now have big camping plans for the weekend. I am so in love with this tent. It's so sweet. We are going to love it!!! I love Nate so much. I thought he was bringing home a bouquet of peonies...or something extra delicious for dinner. Little did I know he made a trip to REI and spoiled our family with a new Marmot tent!! YAY! Adventure is out there!

I love these girls more and more every day. We have been loving the spring! It feels like summer is here already - lots of fun playing outside in the sun! I know we're going to have a wonderful summer. We just adore these girls so much. I love seeing how much they grow each day. Kennedi's personality has really blossomed in the last couple weeks. She is hilarious. She is going to be a silly little lady just like her big sis. They are going to be best buds for sure.

 

a Sunday evening bike ride

we had an awesome Sunday evening bike ride tonight. we love our new Burley!! we are looking forward to lots of bike rides together as a family. the girls were darling, all snuggled up together - with their cute helmets. I love nights like tonight. I love my girls & Nate so much!

happy first birthday to our sweet little Kennedi

Kennedi turned 1 yesterday!! I can't believe our little baby girl is one already. It's amazing how fast this year passed. She is growing up so quickly. I absolutely adore Kennedi. She has such a tender heart. She is so sweet and happy. Her giggle is the cutest. She adores her big sister! The cutest moments are when Adelie & Kennedi start giggling together. They are darling together. I'm so happy they have each other. 

We made the best of Kennedi's big day. We had big plans of a picnic, a family bikeride, a trip to the carousel...but...it rained all day, and Adelie woke up sick with a high fever. So we decided to skip the outdoor plans & go out to lunch at our favorite spot instead. At lunch, Adelie started to get really sick - so we took our food to go. We got some medicine for Adelie and made a quick stop at a really great toy store so the girls could pick out some fun new toys...and play a little bit. It was a great "plan b". They had so much fun. It was a really sweet store - and both Adelie & Kennedi were having so much fun.

Kennedi was happy all day - she knew it was her special day. She was super cheerful & excited. We finished the birthday celebration with presents & yummy cupcakes. Kennedi does not love cupcakes like the rest of the Cartwright family. She gave it a taste...and then destroyed it!!!! Chocolate cupcake crumbs everywhere!!! Adelie was so confused - why was Kennedi ruining a perfectly delicious cupcake??? At first she was saying "oopsies..." and then I think she was a little sad that the cupcake was ruined. It was hilarious. 

We adore you, Kennedi. You have the sweetest heart. You bring so much joy to our family every day.
